Sensys receives order from the UK worth SEK 1 million

SENSYS Traffic AB has received an order from the Dutch company Lloyd's Register Rail B.V. for train-pantograph monitoring systems, with delivery to a leading rail operator in the United Kingdom.
The order covers a pilot system for the monitoring of train pantographs, known as APMS, with a value of SEK 1 million for operational evaluation. The pilot system will be installed and evaluated in 2013.
"We now have the opportunity, in commercial operating conditions, to demonstrate the customer-benefit with Sensys' APMS integrated into Lloyd's Gotcha platform, simultaneously as we enter the major rail market of the United Kingdom," says Johan Frilund, CEO of Sensys.
The purpose of the APMS (Automatic Pantograph Monitoring System) is to detect damage to pantographs on passing trains in order to prevent overhead power lines being ruptured, with subsequent delays to train services. The system is assembled above the track and the overhead contact lines at strategic locations along the rail network. In collaboration with Lloyds, which was initiated in October 2011, APMS has been integrated with Lloyd's system to measure the effect of trains on the infrastructure, known as the Gotcha system.
