Sensys wins breakthrough order from Qatar worth SEK 6m
07-01-2015
SENSYS Traffic AB, a global supplier of traffic safety solutions, has received its first order for traffic safety systems from a customer in Qatar.
Following targeted, long-term marketing efforts, Sensys has succeeded in winning an order in Qatar worth SEK 6m.
The Middle East is now Sensys’ second largest market and the order from Qatar means the company now has customers in 8 of the region’s 14 countries.
The total available market has a combined population of approximately 350 million. These countries have high road fatality rates and to improve the situation, major investments to develop infrastructure and safety are currently underway, primarily in the rapidly growing cities. The investments mean the market for traffic safety systems is experiencing healthy growth, making it strategically significant for Sensys. In light of this development, Sensys has decided to establish a local presence in the Middle East during 2015, in order to better meet demand from both existing and new customers. The main aim of having a local presence is to take advantage of the healthy market growth that the region has to offer.
“The order represents a breakthrough in Qatar and is proof that our solutions are competitive. Our strategy of providing existing and new customers with tailored solutions, based on the flexibility of our leading technology and a strong project implementation organisation, is a key success factor,” comments Sensys CEO Johan Frilund.
