Sensys wins order from Middle East worth SEK 15m
29-01-2015
SENSYS Traffic AB, a global supplier of traffic safety solutions, has received an additional order for traffic safety systems worth SEK 15m from a customer in the Middle East.
The order follows on from a previous order announced in November 2014, and constitutes a further stage in a larger installation of traffic safety systems.
The Middle East is currently Sensys’ second largest market and the company now has customers in 8 of the region’s 14 countries. Including this order, the total order intake in the Middle East from the third quarter up until today amounts to SEK 38 million, compared with the order intake in Sweden, which is SEK 95 million.
The total available market in the Middle East has a combined population of approximately 350 million. These countries have high road fatality rates and to improve the situation, some major investments to develop infrastructure and safety are currently underway, primarily in the rapidly growing cities. The investments mean the market for traffic safety systems is experiencing healthy growth, making it strategically significant for Sensys. In light of this development, Sensys has decided to establish local sales and service offices in the Middle East during 2015, in order to better meet demand from both existing and new customers.
“This order is evidence of the strength of our offering in the Middle East, as it follows on almost immediately from a previous delivery to the same customer. It also confirms our view of the growing level of demand for traffic safety systems that is currently happening in the Middle East,” says Sensys CEO Johan Frilund.
