Sensys wins additional order from Qatar worth SEK 5m
19-01-2015
SENSYS Traffic AB, a global supplier of traffic safety solutions, has received an additional order for traffic safety systems worth SEK 5m from a customer in Qatar.
The order is in addition to the breakthrough order worth SEK 6m announced earlier in the year, and follows a conscious, long-term market investment in the region.
The Middle East is currently Sensys’ second largest market and the company now has customers in 8 of the region’s 14 countries. This market has a combined population of approximately 350 million. These countries have high road fatality rates and to improve the situation, major investments to develop infrastructure and safety are currently underway, primarily in the rapidly growing cities. The investments mean the market for traffic safety systems is experiencing healthy growth, making it strategically significant for Sensys.
In light of this development, Sensys has decided to establish local sales and service offices in the Middle East during 2015, in order to better meet demand from both existing and new customers.
“It is pleasing to see that we are now starting to reap the benefits of our long-term investments in markets in the Middle East. Once again this order confirms the strength of our tailored solutions, based on the flexibility of our leading technology and a robust project implementation organisation. By establishing ourselves in the region we increase opportunities for closer dialogue with our customers, enabling us to adapt our offering,” comments Sensys CEO Johan Frilund.
