Timo Gatsonides appointed CTO of Sensys Gatso Group

Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, has appointed Mr. Timo Gatsonides as Chief Technology Officer and Mr. Edmar van der Weijden to take up Mr. Gatsonides current position as Executive Vice President of the Managed Services Business Unit.
Sensys Gatso Group has established a three step strategy consisting of Post-merger Integration, Operational Excellence, and Business Transformation. The objective of the Operational Excellence step is to realize the synergies that has been identified in the Post-merger Integration. The Business Transformation aims at growth and increasing recurring revenue by addressing the future of autonomous vehicles, smart cities and intelligent highways. It is in the context of the Business Transformation that it has been decided to appoint Timo Gatsonides to the group's CTO with responsibility for technology strategy and partnerships reporting to the CEO.
Mr. Gatsonides current position will be taken over by Mr. Edmar van der Weijden as the EVP with responsibility for the Managed Service Business Unit. Edmar van der Weijden was prior to the merger Sales Director at Gatso since 2008. He has an B.Sc. in Automotive Engineering and has previously held several positions for multinational companies in the Netherlands and abroad where he has gained an extensive experience in restructuring and new business development.
Sensys Gatso Group's CEO Torbjörn Sandberg comments: "We are challenged with a changing world, and it is clear that the traffic, especially urban traffic, will change fundamentally within the next coming ten years.
