ATK saves lives in Sweden

The Swedish ATK system (National Speed Enforcement Program) celebrates 10 year. Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, has been the supplier of the technology during all of those years.

During the weekend the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) highlighted the 10 year celebration of the Swedish ATK system. The 1500 systems save 20 lives a year and reduce the number of seriously injured by more than 70 people per year. Maria Krafft, Director at Swedish Transport Administration said in an interview on Swedish television, "The next three years we will put up another 700 because they are so effective in bringing down speed and they save 20 to 30 lives a year."

The Swedish Transport Administration signed an agreement with Sensys Gatso Group AB for delivery of the ATK system in July 2013. The Swedish Transport Administration orders annually according to their internal planning process. However, volumes for the next three years, has not yet been ordered.
