Order from Sweden worth 17 MSEK
30-05-2017
Sensys Gatso Group AB, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, has received an order from the Swedish Transport Administration worth 17 MSEK. The order covers speed enforcement systems fortunnels and spare parts to existing installations of speed enforcement systems.
Safety in road tunnels is a prioritized area within the Transport Administration. Therefore it has assigned Sensys Gatso to develop the current speed enforcement solutions in order to meet the specific requirements in road tunnels.
This assignment from the Transport Administration is given to Sensys Gatso within the framework of the current contract signed in 2013 between the parties. It is an example on development for new applications in the cooperation between the parties. The order, which is in addition to the on-going roll-out of new speed enforcement systems, will be delivered during the first half of 2018.
The Transport Administration has an increasing number of tunnels to manage, especially around the larger cities, at the same time as the requirements on traffic safety are higher in tunnels due to the potentially severe consequences of a crash.
“We are proud that we, in close cooperation with the Transport Administration, continue to develop the speed enforcement systems for use in tunnels. It improves our position as a strategically important supplier to the Transport Administration” says Torbjörn Sandberg, President and CEO of Sensys Gatso.
