Sensys Gatso USA has been awarded a School Zone speed contract worth SEK 32 million

Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, through its American subsidiary, Sensys Gatso USA is under contract with Pawtucket R.I. for Red Light Enforcement and School Zone Speed Enforcement valued at approximately $3.5M USD, corresponding to SEK 32 million, over the 5-year term.
Pawtucket is the fourth largest city in the state of Rhode Island and is currently home to the Pawtucket Red Sox, the Minor League baseball affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The Mayor of Pawtucket, along with the Office of Procurement, were the driving forces behind getting the program approved with stakeholders and city council members.
The Managed Services photo enforcement program is expected to commence in January of 2019 with the school zone cameras enforcing speed limits during specific hours of operation, based on school schedules. In 2016, the Automated School Zone Speed Enforcement System Act was passed, in Rhode Island, permitting municipalities to install the cameras within a quarter-mile of any type of school in the state. The red light cameras will be placed at intersections where traffic volumes and crash statistics warrant the implementation.
