Sensys Gatso is awarded a contract from Chester, Iowa USA worth SEK 5.8 million
10-05-2019
Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety systems and solutions, through its American subsidiary, Sensys Gatso USA has entered into a 5-year agreement with the town of Chester, IA. This fixed speed program is expected to yield approximately SEK 5.8 million, corresponding to $600,000 over the term of the contract.
Chester is a one-square mile town in Howard County Iowa located just across the state line from Minnesota. The town sees 6000 vehicles passing through each day, with no way of enforcing its 25 mph speed limit. The Howard County Sheriff’s department has agreed to oversee this fixed speed camera program for Chester with the idea that this could lead to program expansion across the County over time.
This Traffic Enforcement as a Service (TRaaS) contract also allows for two, two-year extensions. The expected timeframe for the program roll out is July.
