Sensys Gatso Australia receives order for traffic safety systems and services worth SEK 11 million and enables SGG's global solution development model

26-07-2021

Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety systems, through its subsidiary Sensys Gatso Australia, has received an order to the value of AUD 1.8 million, corresponding to SEK 11.4 million for the supply and installation of road traffic safety systems and services to the Victorian Government.

The order is for the establishment of test site infrastructure at a number of sites located on the Calder Freeway in the State of Victoria. Once installed, these sites can be used for the development, testing and Type Approval of future road traffic safety systems. The first solution to be Type Approved will be a Point to Point (P2P) speed enforcement system. An approved P2P system would enforce average and instantaneous speed and will be suitable for future deployment throughout the State of Victoria and other jurisdictions globally. This system will be created with a global solution development model using team members from Australia, Netherlands and Sweden. It is anticipated that the test site infrastructure installation and subsequent P2P solution will be completed in early 2022.

Sensys Gatso Australia's Managing Director Enzo Dri comments: "The project is a true example of our global solution development capabilities. A focus on delivering a solution that is replicable, scalable and able to be deployed in multiple jurisdictions not only supports the State's road safety objectives but those of our global clients. This project will specifically improve the management of traffic safety at Highway locations in the State of Victoria in an effort to reduce injuries and fatalities.”
