Sensys Gatso Australia signs extension agreements for supply and maintenance of ANPR traffic safety systems to the state of New South Wales
18-11-2021
Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety systems, through its subsidiary Sensys Gatso Australia, has signed extension agreements for the supply and maintenance of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems with the New South Wales (NSW) Government. The initial term of the agreements is 5 years with 2 extension options of 1 year each. The initial Project order to extend the TRaaS maintenance of existing systems is expected to be received in the coming month to the value of AUD 3 million, corresponding to SEK 20 million.
These extended agreements enable the NSW Government to place Project Orders with Sensys Gatso Australia for the supply and maintenance of ANPR systems used for Average Speed Enforcement and Heavy Vehicle monitoring under the Australia-wide SafeTCam (STC) program for the next five years and two potential additional years. The Sensys Gatso Australia team has already supplied, installed and maintained a number of these systems in NSW. Additional systems are currently being progressively installed by Sensys Gatso. The initial Project Order under this Procurement Award will cover the existing systems installed at regional site locations throughout NSW and it is anticipated that this will be received by the end of 2021.
Sensys Gatso Australia's Managing Director Enzo Dri comments: "Our relationship with the NSW Government in supporting their efforts to drive road safety across the State has been a success story for over 10 years. The NSW Government's focus on improving road user behaviour in regional locations and in particular on Highways for Heavy Vehicle traffic has saved lives and reduced injuries. We are pleased to extend this relationship, improve road safety and assist in enforcing speed and monitoring driver fatigue."
