Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, through its subsidiary, Sensys Gatso USA, has executed a five-year base-term automated speed enforcement contract with the City of Webster City, IA. The contract is estimated to be worth up to USD 720,000 corresponding to SEK 7 million. The program is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2023 with automated fixed speed systems along two highways in the city.
“Our community has a great deal of appreciation for the work our police officers do day in and day out. The demands and expectations that have evolved in recent decades require the City to look at different strategies and resources that enhance the ability of our officers to carry out their duties and maintain a safe community”, said City Manager Daniel Ortiz-Hernandez. “The decision to augment Webster City’s police resources by partnering with Sensys Gatso to install traffic enforcement cameras on crucial roadways where there is high level of danger due to the volume of vehicles travelling at excessive speeds, reflects the City’s commitment to safety for our residents, police officers, and emergency personnel who have to respond to vehicle accidents on these roadways”.
“We are very happy to partner with Webster City and assist them with their traffic safety concerns”, said Sensys Gatso USA President and Managing Director, Bill Braden. “Our team is ready to work with the City to implement their specifically designed automated traffic safety program and reduce dangerous driving in the community. Through technology, automated traffic enforcement becomes a force multiplier for the city and helps effectively manage traffic safety in Webster City".
