Sensys Gatso receives TRaaS contract for traffic safety in Hawthorn Woods, IL, worth SEK 12 million

31-01-2025

Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, through its subsidiary, Sensys Gatso USA, has executed a five-year base term automated red light enforcement contract with the Village of Hawthorn Woods, IL. The Village Board unanimously approved the ordinance approving the contract.

The contract is estimated to be worth up to $1.1 million (USD) corresponding to SEK 12 million. The program is anticipated to begin in late spring of 2025.

The proposed intersections will be submitted to the Lake County Department of Transportation for their review and approval. The intersections were selected based upon the crash history and a violation survey that was conducted.

“The Village reached out to us after experiencing a significant number of crashes at their major intersections”, said Sensys Gatso USA President and Managing Director, Bill Braden. “We look forward to partnering with them to address their traffic safety concerns. Through technology, automated traffic enforcement becomes a force multiplier for the Village at a time when local resources are stretched.”
