Areas around schools, playgrounds and sport facilities often have reduced speed limits. To enforce these speed limits and warn children and other vulnerable road users against speeding vehicles we developed a Speed Warning Safety System. The system first alerts the driver of the speeding vehicle to slow down immediately. Secondly, the system uses an audible and visual alarm to warn children, pedestrians and cyclists to warn the speeding drivers. Ultimately, the system can also enforce the speed limit should the driver fail to slow down.
